I’m Tereza

Hair has been part of my life since 2017. What I love about my work is the creativity, the precision and above all the chance to bring out natural beauty and give people confidence.

After moving to Prague I began to specialise in hair extensions and thickening, and in working with hairpieces and wigs. Today clients come to me not only from the Czech Republic but from abroad too.

Hairlo. grew out of my love of hair and the wish to offer more than just a hairdressing service. I believe in an individual approach, quality and results that bring out each client’s personality.

Caring for your extensions

Extensions need proper, regular care. By following a few simple rules you’ll extend their lifespan, keep them looking beautiful and protect your own hair at the same time.

The first 48 hours

  • After the application, wait the recommended time before your first wash, depending on the method and type of bonds used.
  • Avoid heavy sweating, saunas and prolonged moisture until the bonds have fully set.
  • Don’t pull on your hair or put the bonds under unnecessary strain.

Washing

  • Wash your hair as needed with a gentle shampoo suitable for extensions.
  • Apply shampoo mainly to the scalp, don’t rub the bonds unnecessarily and wash in the direction of growth.
  • Apply conditioner and masks to the lengths and ends, away from the bonds.
  • After washing, gently squeeze your hair with a towel, without rubbing or twisting.

Drying

  • After washing, thoroughly dry the bond area first, ideally with a hairdryer on a medium setting.
  • Dry the lengths gently in the direction of growth.
  • Don’t leave the bonds damp for long and never go to bed with wet hair.

Brushing

  • Brush your hair regularly with a brush suitable for extensions.
  • Start at the ends and work your way up to the roots. Hold the lengths while brushing.
  • Gently separate the individual bonds regularly so your own hair doesn’t tangle.
  • Avoid pulling, tugging and excessive tension around the bonds.

Sleep and sport

  • At night, put your hair in a loose plait or braid so it doesn’t tangle.
  • For sport, tie your hair up so the bonds aren’t pulled too much.
  • After swimming in a pool or the sea, rinse your hair thoroughly with clean water and then treat it with suitable care.

Styling

  • Always use suitable heat protection before heat styling.
  • Don’t put a straightener or curling iron directly on the bonds and avoid unnecessarily high temperatures.
  • Apply oils, serums and nourishing products only to the lengths and ends, away from the bonds.
  • Always consult a professional before colouring or chemically treating extensions.

Regular maintenance

  • Keep to the recommended appointments for moving up and renewing the bonds, according to the method and how fast your own hair grows.
  • Regular maintenance helps prevent tangling, excess weight and damage to your own hair.
  • If the bonds loosen, pull uncomfortably or irritate your scalp, get in touch with me promptly.

Will the tapes damage my hair?

With correct application, regular maintenance and the right care at home, the tape method is gentle on your own hair. What matters is choosing the right method, amount and length of hair for the quality of your own hair.

How long does the application take?

It depends on the method and the amount of hair. The application itself takes roughly 30–60 minutes. I’ll give you a more precise time at the consultation.

How long do extensions last?

How long extensions last depends on their quality, your care at home and regular maintenance. With proper handling the hair can be reused, while the bonds need moving up regularly as your own hair grows out.

When do the tapes need moving up?

Tapes are usually moved up every 6–8 weeks, depending on how fast your own hair grows and its condition. Regular move-ups help prevent tangling and excess weight on the hair around the bonds.

Will anyone notice I have extensions?

With the right method, shade and amount of hair, extensions look very natural. The bonds are discreet and worked in so that they blend with your own hair as well as possible.

How do I look after extensions?

Extensions need gentle, regular care. It’s important to use suitable hair products, brush your hair correctly and keep to your maintenance appointments. You’ll find a detailed guide in the Hair care section.

Can I go swimming or to the sauna with extensions?

Yes, but there are a few rules to follow. Chlorinated and salt water can dry the hair out and affect its quality. After swimming, rinse it thoroughly with clean water and treat it with suitable care. In the sauna, protect your hair from excessive heat and the bonds from prolonged moisture.

Can I colour or tone my extensions?

Colouring and toning extensions is possible, but it always depends on their quality and type. I recommend leaving chemical treatments to a professional so the hair isn’t damaged and the bonds aren’t weakened. In general I don’t recommend lightening extensions.

Can I come for a consultation first?

Of course! The consultation can be in person or online, takes 30 minutes and costs CZK 490. Together we’ll talk through your ideas, assess the condition of your hair and I’ll recommend the best solution and aftercare.
